Richard Pryor Biopic In Progress, Fans Delighted

richardpryorJuly 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The fans of ace comedian Richard Pryor have reasons to feel elated about. The legendary comedian passed away in the year 2005 at the age of 65 and since then many people thought about making a film on the comedy genius. Finally two persons have come forward to do the job and they are Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. They are among those who have drawn inspiration from the standup comedy of the ace comedian. The biopic will be named Pryor: Is It Something I Said? Noted actor Marlon Wayans is going to play the on screen avatar of the comedian as it has been reported. A number of other actors were considered for the role, but the producer duo zeroed in on Marlon Wayans at the end.

The biopic will portray the struggle and problems the comedian had to go through and how he popularized the genre of standup comedy through his dedication and efforts. Bill Condon will direct this upcoming film. Incidentally he is also directing the final part of the famous Twilight Saga named Breaking Dawn. As and when he finishes the work for the popular vampire flick he will start working for this biopic. However, it is yet to be known when it will get released.

The biopic on Richard Pryor was supposed to have actor Eddie Murphy earlier. However, he left the project owing to some differences with the producers. The producers however are content with Marlon Wayans doing the role. They think he is the best choice for portraying the ace comedian on screen. His screen test has convinced them as they have said.
