Richard Armitage Roped In For ‘The Hobbit’

episode2_series2_10_470x313Oct 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After a long wait and endless speculation by the media Peter Jackson has finally started the casting for the much awaited film ‘The Hobbits’. The shooting for the film will begin in February 2011. Two lead stars for the movie have also been selected and they are Richard Armitage and Martin Freeman. The latter will essay the character of Bilbo Baggins while the other will play Thorin Oakenshield who is the Dwarf leader in the tale. The director is quite upbeat about his choices and thinks that both the actors will be suitable for the roles. He said in a recent statement that Richard Armitage is one of “the most exciting and dynamic actors working on screen today and we know he is going to make an amazing Thorin Oakenshield”.

Actor Aiden Turner has also been roped in The Hobbit to play the role of elf King in the movie. The cats is certainly interesting and the viewers can expect a brilliant movie if it does not get delayed any further. The Hobbits is a project that had been in the making for a very long time. It got plagued by a number of problems including finding the right director and actors. The producers were also in a mess which also made the project delayed to a large extent.

The film will go on floors within a few months only. It will be made in two parts that will be released in the years 2012 and 2013 respectively. The film is based on a novel by author J.R.R. Tolkien. The fans of the novel can rejoice now.
