A rice farmer is using ingenious way to keep birds away from the rice fields. The farmer is using scarecrows dressed like the late king of pop Michael Jackson.

The farmer followed the advice of his 30-year-old son, Lee Ping-hsing and made two wooden frames and dressed them like Michael Jackson. The scarecrows have sponges for their face. One of the scarecrows has white gloves on its “hands” with the other scarecrow wearing the famous red “Thriller” jacket with its trouser. The scarecrows are positioned at different poses that were copied from the pop singer’s signature dance moves.

Lee is a huge fan of Michael Jackson but his decision to have his idol’s scarecrow on their rice field did not “thrill” his grandfather. He warned that Michael Jackson’s spirit could haunt the family for the portrayal.

“During harvest, my dad would go to the fields every day and chase the birds away. And I thought, since Michael is good at ‘grabbing his bird’, I’m inviting him to grab ours,” he said.

Michael Jackson died suddenly in June 2009 at the age of 50 in Los Angeles. The singer’s death shocked the entire world and his family has sued his doctor who administered a prescription drug that is believed to have killed him.
