Ribbon Lift Keeps Madonna Looking Young?March 4th, 2009 - 11:10 pm ICT by GD
The lingering question that is on everyone’s minds now has to do with Madonna. Just how does she manage to look so youthful? The 50-year old Queen of Pop wowed the press and celebrities alike with her incredible youthful glow when she arrived on the red carpet at the Oscars. Her peaches and cream complexion glowed under the flash bulbs and spotlight, but how? The answer lies in the speculation that her skin has not a single wrinkle thanks to a new procedure called “ribbon lift” that as she is an example of, can really roll back the years.
It is a half-hour treatment available at most Beverley Hills clinics for $6000 and uses a ribbon implant capable of dissolving. The implant is used to lift neck tissues through a short incision made around the earlobe. The ribbon dissolves in two months, leaving results that last for three years.
In an interview plastic surgeon Alex Karidis claimed that in a photo taken days before the Academy Awards night, Madonna had all the signs showing that she had indeed undergone the treatment. He explained, “[A tube-like device] is tunnelled under the skin and has lots of tiny hooks that attach to the muscle and tissue. We then pull it upwards to lift the whole area. It doesn’t appear as if the ribbon has dissolved properly. However, she looks to have cleverly covered it with a loose hairstyle at the Oscars party.”
The surgeon also suggested that Madonna may have had a separate skin resurfacing treatment performed on her. There were no responses available from Madonna about the ribbon lift procedure as she had herself famously commented, “I am certainly not against plastic surgery; however, I am absolutely against having to discuss it.”
