Dec.27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After having its TV premiere on 26 Dec on HBO, the movie ‘Revolutionary Road’ starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio has naturally become one of the widest searched item across the internet. The 2008 released movie is about the love story of April, who is an actress and Frank- the regular man who hates his job. The movie sees the ups and downs between the couple who remain unhappy even after moving to a one of the wealthiest suburbs of Connecticut- Revolutionary Road. The once-madly-in-love-but-now-married- Frank soon becomes an adulterer, with his wife committing the same crime with her neighbor. What follows is a relationship gone bad, with both the participants completely dissatisfied with each other. The end sees April die of a self-inflicted abortion and Frank left as a single father, who soon becomes devoted to his kids.
The movie featured some very emotional baggage carried by the characters which was beautifully performed by the veteran actors. The supporting cast of Kathy Bates, Kathryn Hahn, David Harbour, Michael Shannon, Richard Easton, Zoe Kazan and Jay O. Sanders complemented the movie in the best way possible. The critics gave the movie two thumbs-up and so did its audience. The direction of Sam Mendes was hugely acclaimed and the actors were complimented with “brilliantly acted and emotionally powerful, revolutionary road is a handsome adaptation of Richard Yates celebrated novel”.
The movie still remains a must-watch according to sources, having been featured on many top ten lists (2008), and after occupying the number one position on the San Franciso Chronicle list, which is criticized by Mick LaSalle.
