Post Michael Jackson’s sad demise, it has been witnessed that people have been trying to gain publicity by surfacing one controversy after another regarding the pop icon’s death. The recent list of people earnestly seeking publicity includes a New York Congressman named Peter King.
The Republican has allegedly put up a video of his on You Tube, where he lashes out at MJ calling him a “pervert” and a “child molester”. In the controversial video, King said that the society is “glorifying a low life” instead of paying homage to the efforts of police officers, veterans, fire fighters, teachers and volunteers. The Congressman, who looked quite irritated by the media regarding the coverage of Michael Jackson’s death has reportedly said in the video that “the day in and day out” coverage of Michael Jackson’s death is “too politically correct”.
The Republican even vented his anger on the media as according to him, the hype created around Jackson’s death is ridiculous and nebulous. He also conceded that Jackson “may have been a good singer” and “did some dancing”. He degraded the late singer by calling MJ as “pedophile”, “child molester” and a “pervert”. In the video, the Congressman went a step ahead by saying that the media has “disgraced itself” with it’s relentless coverage of the pop icon’s death.
Later on King defended his actions regarding his comment against Michael Jackson. King said that he didn’t realize he would get such attention because of the video. King was supposed to take part in a debate on a TV news channel regarding the issue, but he later turned the offer down as he felt that “the situation can go out of control”.
When asked about King’s comments on Jackson, the Jackson family spokesman Ken Sunshine said that the family is preparing for Jackson’s funeral and will not dignify King’s statement with a comment.
