Repeatedly scaring viewers a challenge: Vikram Bhatt

Mumbai, Aug 8 (IANS) Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who has almost mastered the horror genre with films like “Raaz”, “Shaapit”, “Haunted” and now “Raaz 3″, says it’s not easy to repeatedly scare audiences.
“It is not easy to scare the audience because they can even make fun of your film very easily. You need to find new ways to scare them because if you repeat the same thing again and again, people will get used to it,” the 43-year-old said here Tuesday in an interview.
At the same time, he feels adding new tactics is a challenge, which needs to be tackled in all genre of films.
“It is a challenge but then the challenge is there in every film. If you make a romantic film, then you need to find new ways in that too. Similarly, you need new jokes while making a comedy,” he said.
Talking about working with the Bhatt camp - Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt - after a gap of seven years, Vikram said: “There was some rift, everyone know about it. But later when I looked back, the issue seemed very small.”
“Bhatt saab (Mahesh Bhatt) and Mukeshji did so much for me and I have come back today to pay them back for everything they did for me. They made me a director and supported me, emotionally and financially. Whatever I do for them is not enough,” added Vikram whose first blockbuster with the Bhatts was Aamir Khan starrer 1998 hit movie “Ghulam”.
