The plot features similarities to Zellweger’s own journey from Texas to Hollywood. The actress who has helped in creating the script will also take on the role of executive producer.
The show will air on America’s Lifetime network.
“Renee’s passion, clarity of character and deep emotion for this project immediately transported us to the late ’60s/early ’70s and created a resonance with us wanting to relive that energy,” contactmuisc.com quoted Lifetime president Nancy Dubuc as saying.
“Cinnamon Girl is a game changer for our network and is exactly the type of show we want to deliver,” Dubuc added.
