remJan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Accelerate” was the last album that R.E.M released in 2008. Since then, the fans have been longing to hear some new hits for the popular Alternative Rock band. Nevertheless the band will soon bring an end to the longing, as they are all set to release their next album “Collapse Into Now” in March. However, before that, the band would be featuring one of its songs in the “Colm Hayes” 2FM show, right after the midday news. The song that would be featured has been titled as “UBerlin”.

“UBerlin” was reportedly recorded at Hansa Studios, the famous studio in Berlin. In this album, the band has once again worked with Irish producer Jacknife Lee, who also helped R.E.M to produce their last album “Accelerate”. The guests appearances in this band would be made by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches. Although this album would be released in March 7, they have already revealed the names of the songs along with its lyrics video, in their website www.remhq.com. Some of the songs from their much awaited upcoming album are, “Discover”, “All The Best”, “Oh My Heart”, ” “Mine Smell Like Honey”, “It Happened Today” and “Walk It Back”. The song which features Eddie Vedder is “It Happened Today”, Peaches has been featured in “Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter”, while the song “Blue”, features Patti Smith.

It has been seen that R.E.M makes no hasty decisions when it comes to releasing their albums. Perhaps that is the reason why, despite releasing an album in an interval of at-least three years, their albums sell like hot cakes. They know how to make their fans crave for them, and that is what attributes to the whopping success of each of their album. R.E.M followed the same strategy this time too.
