Reliance Broadcast Net And CBS Launches Big CBS Prime In India

taDec 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Indian viewers must be happy to hear the news that India’s Reliance Broadcast Net and CBS has launched Big CBS Prime on Monday. The network Big CBS Prime has distributed deals with Indian cables like Reliance Big TV, Digicable, Hathway and Den Networks which has out the newly launched channel in more than 20 million homes. The news has brought in a wave of happiness to the viewers as Indian audience will be able to watch American shows like “Survivor”, “The Good Wife”, “NCIS” and even “Late Show With David Letterman” within 24 hours of US premieres.

Tarun Katial, the CEO of reliance, in the press conference told that the launch of Big CBS Prime is the first step towards “internationally acclaimed quality programming” and it would fulfill a lot of gap in both the countries regarding the shows. Tarun Katial said that through the distribution tie-ups the survey says that the network has achieved a complete 100% audience cover just within a few days of its launch. He also said that the current time lag between India and US subcontinent’s premiere of shows is about nine months and now Indian viewers will be able to see the shows within 24 hours. The CEO hopes that Big CBS will grow the size of the programming market in a short span of time.

The network officials says that the channel will have 37 hours of original programming every week. Big CBS Networks’ business head Aparna Pande told a reputed media source that within six months the network would develop local content in English for the Indian audience. The business head said that the first step would be adapting popular international show “Entertainment Tonight” and in Indian format it would bring Bollywood news to Indian audience.
