Reliance Broadcast announces Big Television Awards
May 18th, 2011 - 8:15 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 18 (IANS) Celebrating 25 years of television industry, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited has announced the BIG Television Awards to honour popular characters from TV shows.
The nominees for the awards will be chosen by a set of esteemed jury members and the winners of the respective categories will be decided through public votes.
“Television is the cornerstone of entertainment in India and with this intellectual property, we want to bring together artists from the small screen who entertain us each day. We have conceptualized this to cut across the socio-geographical diverse Indian television industry,” Rabe T. Iyer, Business Head- Big Live & Big Street, said in a statement.
“We are confident that with our ability to amplify this across our business verticals, we will see excellent audience acceptance, while offering advertisers an excellent property to be associated with,” Iyer added.
Big Television Awards is the latest to join the list that has Indian Television Academy Awards (ITA), Indian Telly Awards, Star Parivaar awards and Zee Rishtey awards, which have also been honouring those on television previously.
