Regis Retiring From ‘Live With Regis & Kelly’ in November
February 9th, 2011 - 12:25 am ICT by Angela Kaye Mason
Feb 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Although Regis Philbin was initially due to retire in August, the date has been pushed back, as the television show host has announced a new retirement date, in November. Regis has been a part of the Live! With Regis and Kelly show for the last twenty nine years.
The delay is said to be in order to give the network, WABC time to properly plan a farewell episode to Regis. He has been a mainstay of daytime television for much of the lives of many of the viewers. Regis is seventy nine years old.
This fall season will be vastly different for New York local daytime television. It will be the first time in twenty five years without Oprah Winfrey, and the first time in almost thirty years without Regis.
