American Idol winnersJan 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of the television’s biggest reality shows “American Idol” is all set to make its premiere once again on Wednesday. The show which will be starting off soon with its 10th season has given the show producers and the channel some reasons to worry for sparks are flying that the television show has taken a back seat with the viewers. Even if one goes by the record sales in the gross selling of the winner’s albums then the recent sales of the last season’s winner is sure to disappoint you.

It is being speculated that one of the key reasons behind the low sales of the albums is related to the singer itself. Season 9’s winner Lee DeWyze was sold just at an unbelievable 39,000 units in the very first week itself. According to Billboard this is the lowest sales that any “American Idol” winner has earned in his or her debut album. Even the debut album of any runner-up did not score so low! Leave alone recent winner Lee DeWyze, nobody even seems to remember neither the winner of Season 7 David Cook nor Kris Allen who won the title in Season 8.

It has been a real long time since the show has not come up with talents like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. As a result, it will not definitely not be surprising if the “American Idol” shows a fall in its viewers. Even after the show got over both Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood proved their talent by going on to win the prestigious Grammy Awards. However, of late the show has not been able to hunt out any such talent like these.
