New York, Aug 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Teenage singer Rebecca Black has pulled out of her school because of bullying. The 14-year-old became an instant sensation hated and loved in the same measure after she uploaded a video of herself single the song “Friday.”

She has received several death threats following that but the police have largely kept her safe. It seems however that the pressure being piled on her by her fellow students has got to the fever pitch for Black. She has decided to instead get her tuition from the house in order to escape the taunts of her schoolmates.

During an interview with ABC’s “Nightline”, Black said fellow students at her Orange County school were taunting her with the song.

She narrated on the program that, “When I walk by they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice. Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’”

Black’s mother, Georgina Marquez was also on the show and indicated that her daughter will be taught in the house instead. Marquez is frustrated at the treatment being meted out to Black saying that, “She certainly did not need that kind of pressure.”

Black’s “Friday” video has been viewed more than 100 million times on YouTube.
