Los Angeles, Mar 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rebecca Black has some soft spot in her heart. The 13-year-old singer has been touched by the plight of the people in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami that devastated most of the coast of the country.

She has subsequently offered part of the amount that she would make from the sale of her single “Friday” to the people of Japan. During an interview with US Magazine, Black said she felt guilty that her hit came at the same time that the devastation in Japan did. She believes her song in a way took the attention off from Japan and she wants to make it up by offering part of what she would make from the song’s sale on iTunes.

Black said “I think that I get 60% and Ark gets 40%. I am donating money to my school and Japan. My school, El Rancho Charter is really where I started focusing on singing. I feel bad. Japan happened so close to mine, and I feel like I’m taking away attention from it. I really just want to give back.”

She also addressed the issue of all the negativity that she received recently on the Internet following her performance on Jay Leno’s show. She said she has grown used to criticism and doesn’t take all the negative comments to heart.
