Reba McEntire Woos Audience At the CMA 2010

reba-mcentire1Nov 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Reba McEntire won a standing ovation at the Country Music Awards 2010 after she wowed the audience with her version of the popular Beyonce Knowles hit song “If I were a boy”. Fifty five year old Reba McEntire won her award as the Female Vocalist Of the Year at the 44th Country Music Awards 2010 held in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Reba McEntire is one of the most popular faces of country music who has in her fan list fans belonging to the previous era as well as from the new generation. Reba McEntire did full justice to the Beyonce Knowles “If I Were A Boy” song by adapting it completely in her own way and fashioning it in her own tune. This was one of the many surprising performances of the evening where she chose to adapt a song for her stage performance. To add to the excitement of her fans this particular song features in her album. Her well known songs include “I Am A Survivor” and “All The Woman I Am” among many that she has sung.

Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, newcomer Zac Brown Band were amongst others who won the other awards. It was Miranda Lambert’s birthday and she received wonderful birthday presents in the form of three awards. On the whole it was a star studded affair at the awards ceremony in Las Vegas with superb performances by some of the best country stars like Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Sugarland. The event also saw Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow teaming up with Vince Gill to sing “Country Strong” that she has reportedly sung for her upcoming movie.
