Los Angeles, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) She may have won just one award in her singing career but country music icon Reba Mcentire has played great roles in the lives of many of the current country musicians around. She received her sole award in 1986 when she won the CMA’s entertainer of the year award.

However at the age of 55 years, Reba is still performing and she currently have the real chance to add to her award tally. She has been nominated for the female vocalist of the year awards at the upcoming awards on Wednesday. Most of the singers she inspired are also amongst the list of award nominees. They include Miranda Lambert, Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. These artists name Reba as a model they looked up to when they were starting their careers.

Interestingly when Reba picked her solo award, Lambert was just 3 years and Scott had just been born and was just few months old. Reba has not lost any of her vibrancy to advanced age. She is set to released her latest album-the 34th- a day before the awards come off on Wednesday. The new album is “All The Women I Am”.

Lambert described Reba perfectly when she said that, “I think Reba has really shown what a woman’s career should look like. She’s just a mogul. She works so hard and she looks better than she ever has and her music’s great still, it fits in no matter what.”

Lambert has nine nominations and she leads the pack of nominees.
