Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest movie trailer to hit the web is ‘Real Steel’ and it looks like the fans are in for a real treat in 2011. For all those who went crazy when Wolverine got into the groove in the X-Men series, it is time to go berserk as the Australian star Hugh Jackman seems to back with a bang.
The trailer that has been released on the web has already created a huge buzz as it shows what the film is all about. The trailer shows Hugh Jackman as a former boxer who creates a robotic boxer from metal scraps and competes in the robot boxing competition. Considering the kind of success that ‘Transformers’ and ‘Iron Man’ has seen in recent years, the film could add to the collection of human-robot drama. The robots are seen in the ring fighting each other to destruction while the humans are cheering. The bloggers have given the trailer a mixed reception with some feeling that the idea is too cliche.
The film is set at a time when the sport of boxing has gone high tech. Hugh Jackman who is former boxing is reduced to a mere promoter after robots take over the sport. He is later shown developing a robot that turns out to be a championship contender. In the process of the hero developing the match winning machine he is also seen bonding reluctantly with his son played by Dakota Goyo. The duo design a machine that gives Charlie (Hugh Jackman) one last chance at a comeback. The film is based on the short story by Richard Mathis and is scheduled to release in October, 2011.
