October 20, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The latest buzz reveals that Vicki Gunvalson, the star of the Real Housewives of Orange County has made up her mind to divorce her husband Donn.

The number of real life divorces of the stars in the show has gone up by a significant margin making one wonder whether the show would be better off titled the Real Ex-Housewives.

Last year saw the couple Vicki and Donn Gunvalson renew their wedding vows at Turks and Caicos. However, Vicki has now decided to part ways with her husband of 16 years after trying hard to make the relationship work.

Vicki Gunvalson, born in 1962 thinks of herself as a driven person. She is also a successful entrepreneur running an insurance business. Michael and Briana, her children from her first marriage are in their twenties now. Vicki knows herself to be dominating but does not think of it as a flaw in her character attributing her success to her controlling ways instead. She had apparently divorced her first husband because he could not provide her with a lavish lifestyle. The kind that she coveted.

The divorce proceedings were initiated at the Orange County Superior Court on Monday. The fans of the ‘Bravo Reality Show’ may not be too surprised though. The couple had made no effort to keep their marital discord a secret and had frequently expressed their misgivings about each other openly on camera. Vicki had even gone to the extent of telling her husband that her ‘love tank was empty’ that too, on air.
