R&B singer Vesta Williams found dead in her hotel room

Los Angeles, Sept 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) R&B singer Vesta Williams has been found dead in her hotel room in California. The singer who is best known in the late 1980s for her track “Congratulations,” was 48 years. Officials say her body was found in a Los Angeles hotel room on Thursday.

Police say they do not yet know the cause of her death so an investigation has been started. Shortly after the report of her death surfaced, several fans of the singer took to Twitter to express their condolence.

Array of stars including 1990s R&B star Shanice were among the many people who expressed their shock at the news. Writing on Twitter, Shanice revealed that, “My friend Vesta died…I can’t believe this…RIP.”

Comedian, Sinbad, also tweeted on Friday. Sinbad’s tweet read “Our dear sister and one of the sangiest diva’s ever, vesta williams, has passed away. I loved that sister.”

The news is no doubt devastating to the music world. The singer released several tracks in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of her hit tracks included “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” and “Sweet, Sweet Love.” However her biggest break came with the release of the track “Congratulations,” in 1989.
