R&B Singer Faith Evans Arrested In Los Angeles For DUI

evansAug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Grammy Award-winning singer Faith Evans had once again landed up in trouble. As per reports, the Los Angeles police arrested her recently on suspicion of drunk-driving in Los Angeles. She was held under custody for few hours and released on bail early on Sunday morning. Media sources claim that the police have seized the car of the singer. Formal charges against the her are still pending.

Faith Evans was caught at a DUI checkpoint in the Marina Del Rey area, California on Saturday night. Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department said that the 37-year-old singer was arrested after she showed signs of driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving. However, the exact blood-alcohol level of Faith Evans at the time of arrest is not known for sure. The singer’s representative has not addressed the media and messages left at her place by media sources were not immediately returned on Sunday.

However, this is not for the first time that Faith Evans had a brush with the law. Back in 2004, the singer and her husband Todd Russaw were arrested by the police on suspicion of possessing marijuana and cocaine. The couple however managed to stop the prosecution from proceeding with the charges by agreeing to undergo a 13 week drug treatment program. The R&B Singer who is the widow of rapper Christopher Wallace is known best for her song “I’ll Be Missing You” that went on to win her a Grammy Award in 1998. A new album by Faith Evans is due to release this October.
