Ray Stevenson to star in ‘GI Joe’ sequel

Los Angeles, Calif., July 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Thor” star Ray Stevenson has been handed a role in a G.I. Joe sequel. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Stevenson’s character will be Firefly.

Paramount has been putting the cast of the sequel together for some time. The studio has already confirmed that Channing Tatum will be in the sequel. “Friday Night Lights” star Adrianne Palicki and Dwayne Johnson will also be in the movie.

The sequel “G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes” is expected to be released to the cinemas in August of 2012. Stevenson recently completed working on the project “The Three Musketeers.” The movie is expected to be released on the 21st of October.

Firefly played a role in the death of the master of Snake Eye. The death of Snake Eye’s master was a mistake. Firefly was tasked by the commander of Cobra to kill Snake Eye but he realized that he couldn’t do it. He subsequently asked Zartan to carry out the task for him but Zartan ended up killing the master of Snake Eye instead.

“G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes” is the sequel to the earlier film “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” which was directed by Jon M. Chu.
