Los Angeles, Nov 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The twenty-eight year old Raquel Houghton was American Idol’s Dane Cook’s girlfriend, but now she has moved on, and has instead set her sights to star on the show, American Idol. For her American Idol audition she sang “Son of a Preacher Man” by Dusty Springfield. She also often works as a bartender and a waitress at times.

The gracious Raquel Houghton has performed on stage since long, as she is the front woman for The Valli Girls. “Raquel Houghton is our fearless lead singer who always brings the funk when we’re jamming. Plus she has the best reflexes of anyone in the Valley. Not sure what that means but its gotta be good,” says the Valli Girls MySpace page.

The celeb couple of Dane Cook and Raquel Houghton were first spotted together, by the media at the September 2006 premiere of Dane Cook’s movie, ‘Employee of the Month’, which was thoroughly bashed by the critics and the public alike. Dane Cook once said about Raquel Houghton at the time: “We’ve been invited to other functions, but this is our first event of this caliber. This is my baby. ..[She is] independent and funny - two things I like in a woman.”
