Rapper Snoop Dogg takes football to Chicago
August 1st, 2011 - 7:07 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattChicago, Aug 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper Snoop Dogg has taken his football league to Chicago. Snoop outlined his plans on Saturday at the Chicago Indoor Sports Facility.
“The thing is if we don’t give these kids something to fight for, they’ll die for nothing. When I walked into the building I felt the spirit. I’m looking forward to those high [participation] numbers coming out of Chicago,” the rapper Snoop Dogg said.
His noble intentions go far beyond too. He is also planning to stem the street violence in the city, by engaging the youth of the city in better causes such as sports and education. He also spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times, where he revealed all his plans and said that he wanted to divert the energies of the youth towards better causes, rather than just street violence.
Even though the cost of joining the football league is as much as $165 per person, yet the needy don’t need to despair, because scholarships and financial help is there for them. The corporate sponsors of the event range from Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to Midwest Orthopedics in Rush.
Snoop Dogg also said that he felt a dearth of such programs when he was growing up, hence he is now trying to do his bit for the society.
