Rapper Lil’ Wayne performs farewell show in New Orleans

Lil Wayne New Orleans, Dec 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper Lil’ Wayne has given a farewell show in New Orleans, ahead of his 1 year sentence in New York. His legal name is Dwayne Carter, but he is popularly known as Lil’ Wayne. He is a native of New Orleans and therefore he performed his farewell show there, to the thunderous applause of his numerous fans.

The 27 year old Wayne was clad in a crimson-red fitted hat and matching winter coat in his performance in New Orleans. “I’m nothing without you,” Wayne told the crowd in response to his ovation, according to The Associated Press.

It may be recalled that Wayne is scheduled to begin a yearlong sentence in February after pleading guilty to weapons and drug charges in New York. He is all set to serve one year in jail.

According to reports, Lil Wayne was arrested in New York City following a traffic stop of his tour bus. A loaded firearm was found in his bus. A long warring drama followed for more than 2 years, in which there were postponements and delays. Then Lil Wayne finally pleaded guilty to the charge this past October and will be sentenced this February with his plea deal calling for a 365-day sentence.
