Sep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kid Cudi, the 26-year-old rapper has escaped with just two days of community service and six months bond for possessing a vial of cocaine.
It may be recalled that the “Day ‘n’ Night” rapper was arrested in June after police found a glassine envelope containing cocaine on him. Police were originally called in when he had a scuffle with an unidentified woman at the woman’s Chelsea apartment. The rapper had his original charges reduced as part of the plea bargain, which he had entered with the authorities, regarding his case.
His lawyer said the rapper was glad he could concentrate on his career again.
The rapper whose real name is Scott Mescudi, will see all the charges against him dropped, if he stays out of trouble for six months and also does the two days of mandatory community service.
The rapper was not at the courtroom when the Manhattan Criminal Court ruled on the case on Friday. His lawyers pleaded guilty on the charge of possession of controlled substance on behalf of the rapper during the hearing.
The rapper’s reps did not immediately comment on the ruling. One of his new albums is due soon.
