Rapper DMX’s prison release delayed
July 13th, 2011 - 10:03 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattPhoenix, July 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper DMX will have to spend at least another week behind bars because of a failed drug test. DMX was jailed for one year last December when his probation was revoked.
Due to the time that he spent behind bars, DMZ was credited with 117 days when he was given one year jail term. He was subsequently due to be released on Wednesday. However during a routine drug test to finalize his release, the singer failed and will have to wait in jail for some time again. His new release has subsequently been pushed to the 19th of July.
According to the records available at the Arizona Department of Corrections, DMX was caught twice smoking in jail. The records show that at another instance the singer was caught in possession of drugs. He is being paid 20 cents an hour as a porter inside the jail.
40-year-old DMX got his probation revoked when he was arrested driving with suspended license and refusing to submit himself for a mandatory drug test last year. A spokesperson at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Barrett Marson, confirmed to reporters that DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons was supposed to be released on Wednesday.
