Rapper DMX released from prison
July 20th, 2011 - 1:26 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, July 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper DMX has finally been released from prison - almost a week after he was supposed to have been set free. Billboard.com got the confirmation of DMX’s freedom from the rep of the rapper.
DMX who was born Earl Simmons spent about seven months in jail following his conviction on drug charges. DMX spent his time in a jail in Arizona. He was released on Tuesday morning and shortly after he tasted freedom, the rapper told reporters that he was going to see his family again.
DMX has been arrested on about 25 occasions. He was given one year jail term last year on drug charges. He however got credit for the time that he spent in prison when he was initially arrested. DMX was scheduled to be released last week but he failed a routine drug test which delayed his release.
During an interview with the press after his release from jail, DMX said that, “I spoke to my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife. I’m going to go see my daughter while the sun is up then I’m going to be in the studio man.”
The singer is reportedly working on his seventh album which he has titled “Redemption of the Beast.” The last time that an album of DMX came out was in 2006.
