New York, Feb 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Country musician Randy Travis was arrested earlier in the month when officers found his car parked outside a Church. A video of the arrest has been made available to the public by the police in Texas.

In the video, the officers asked Travis if he had been drinking on the night. He admitted it to the officers but was quick to add that he has not been driving. Nonetheless, the officers told him that he has to be taken to jail because of public intoxication.

The officers told him that, “Here’s what’s going to happen tonight … You’re going to go to jail for public intoxication,” Travis said, “Really? Are you kidding me?”

Travis seemed shocked at that but submitted himself for the arrest.

The video was captured by the dashboard camera of the police car. The officers took him to county jail and released him four hours later. He was cited for Class C misdemeanor.

Shortly after he was released from jail, Travis issued a statement apologizing for the incident. He explained in the statement that, “I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl. I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.”
