California, Apr 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Things are not going very nice for actor Randy Quaid. The Independence Day actor who bagged Golden Globe and won nomination for EMMY, BAFTA and Oscar wards in his career, is facing a lawsuit now that also targets his spouse. They did not show up for a scheduled court hearing in Santa Barbara. The couple were charged with warrants earlier too though these were quashed. They were accused of not paying $10000 hotel bill last year. They challenged the accusation and got released on a bail worth $40000. As a result of not attending the Santa Barbara hearing, fresh lawsuit has been issued against the couple.

The fiasco started last year. The actor and his wife stayed in California’s San Ysidro Ranch, a luxury abode. They reportedly evaded paying the bill. They were subsequently accused of defrauding an innkeeper and committing burglary. Things took an ugly turn after they did not answer in 5 court orders asking them to appear. It was in December last year that they faced the issue and pleaded not guilty. The earlier warrants were quashed but it remains to be seen what happens to the latest one.

Randy Quaid has acted in a number of hit films in his career. He has also done commendable work in TV and theater. The latest lawsuit is attracting media attention for some time. After the new warrant the earlier bail has be forfeited. The actor has not made any comment on the issue. It is not known whether he is contemplating any legal action on the issue. The rumor sites are already speculating on his moves.
