Ramu’s ‘love story’ on Maria Susairaj’s crime of passion!

Mumbai, April 6 (IANS) Remember the 2008 case of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj, who along with her naval officer lover murdered her former lover, cut his body into pieces and dumped it into a suitcase? Trust Ram Gopal Varma to hit upon the brainwave of turning the crime of passion into a film called “A Love Story”.
The film, which goes on the floors from April 10, will chronicle every ghoulish detail of the crime.
Speaking on what fascinated him about Susairaj’s case, Ram Gopal Varma says: “I’ve been to the highrise in Malad where this bizarre stomach-churning crime happened. It is inhabited by normal people going through their normal routine. How could such a ghastly crime happen in a small corner of this seemingly normal residential complex?”
Ramu will go through all the complexities of the case. “I’ve met people who knew Susairaj and Emile Jerome Matthew (the man who allegedly helped her murder Neeraj Grover). They seemed so normal.”
He has signed Mahie Gill to play Susairaj. “I’ve seen her in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’. She’s a fabulous actress.”
The rest of the casting is yet to be decided. The film will have no music and songs.
