Ralph Macchio struggles with injury on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
May 10th, 2011 - 8:25 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Ralph Macchio danced through the pain in the hit show “Dancing with the Stars.” Macchio suffered a knee injury that seriously affected his practice with his dancing partner Karina Smirnoff.
The two were typically practicing about 40 hours each week for the show but the injury has greatly reduced that. His last performance of the show followed just ten hours of practice in the week. It was evident from the score that he had that his has been affected.
The judges gave him 25 for the Viennese waltz that he did and had just 21 for doing an instant cha cha cha dance. The injury and the performance have got him at the wrong side of the leader board.
Just a week ago, Macchio led the leader board but he is at the bottom of the rankings for this week. The first position has been taken by Chelsea Kane. With just five more contestants to go, the Disney star couldn’t have found herself at a better position. Chelsea is partnered by Mark Ballas and the two had a combined score of 55 last week.
ABC will show the eviction show live at 8pm ET. There will be a performance by Michael Bolton during the eviction show.
