October 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Finally Ram Gopal Verma and Vivek Oberoi have something to smile about! The director - actor duo were both working hard for a hit for quite some time now and their efforts have finally paid off! If box office collections are anything to go by, Rakta Charitra has drawn more moolahs than Jhootha Hi Sahi and Hisss. And according to industry critics, it is Vivek Oberoi’s Paritala Ravi act which has grabbed the eyeballs of the nation, in spite of the fact that Rakta Charitra has been named the ‘most violent’ film made in India.
While the film had faced the wrath of certain sections of the society for its political associations, this has not prevented the people from queuing in front of theater counters over the weekend. And critics say that it is because of the blood and gore that has been shown in the film that the common man is more interested.
On the other hand, Mallika Sherawat’s sizzling screen presence in Hisss failed to impress Indians. Though the actress had been upbeat about her last release, the film expectedly bombed at the box office. Critics have slammed the film as one without a storyline! The craze around Jhootha Hi Sahi was John Abraham, but it surely seems that loud prevails over subtle in Bollywood this season!
