Rajiv Menon to direct students’ short film

Chennai, July 28 (IANS) Celebrated cinematographer and filmmaker Rajiv Menon will direct a short film for the students of a film institute owned by him. Titled “Sita”, the film will star actresses Divya and Revathy, a press release said.

Besides directing two films in Tamil, Menon has cranked cameras for ace directors Mani Ratnam, Shyam Benegal and Girish Karnad.

One of Menon’s latest acclaimed effort was the Hindi film “Guru” starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

Menon’s first directorial venture “Minsarakkanavu” won choreographer-actor Prabhu Deva and music director A.R. Rahman their first national awards.

Named after his production company Mindscreen, the institute trains students in various aspects of filmmaking, an institute release added.
