May 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Music maestro A R Rahman is ready to start his Music Tour “Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home’ from June 11. He will be accompanied by renowned Bollywood singers and above all the composer will wear the designer clothes by none other than Ritu Beri.

The troupe will travel to 20 major cities across Noth America and Europe including Los Angeles, Washington, London, Dallas etc.

According to the latest reports, Ritu Beri has designed the clothes for the whole troupe which is going to be a part of Rahman’s Tour. Beri seems to find this a tricky task, almost like doing five couture shows at once.

The designer says that, it was crucial to keep the traditions and heritage of India intact while designing for the tour and to add modernity to it at the same time.

More than 300 clothes have been designed for Rahman and the other singers and dancers accompanying him for the tour.

Ritu Beri has confirmed designing 24 different outfits to represent the different parts of India. The different attires have been inspired from elements of Bharatnatyam, Kathak, yoga and other Indian arts.

Rahman is supposed to don 24 different looks for his performance of 24 different songs. Beri has designed Indo-western apparels along with a Michael Jackson look and a Sufi look outfit for the upcoming concert.
