Radio Personality Garrison Keillor Recovers From Minor Stroke

garrison keillor‘Prairie Home Companion’ host, Garrison Keillor 67, has been recovering recently from a minor stroke at the Minnesota hospital after he got the attack on Sunday morning, and has been currently shifted to Saint Marys Hospital on the Mayo campus situated in Rochester.

He was shifted to the second hospital since it’s authorities were pretty aware with the history of his trouble.

The humorist wrote in an e-mail, “I am in the hands of smart and compassionate people and plan to get out on Friday,and get right back to work.” The new season of “A Prarie Home Companion” scheduled for Sept. 26th expects him to do the opening at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.
Mayo spokesman, Karl Oestreich told sources that the patient was showing speedy recovery, operating normally on his laptop, speaking fine, so the hospital authorities would probably see no reason to withhold him after Friday.

He ensured that the entertainer would resume work by next week. Keillor has undergone open-heart surgery in 2001 at Mayo Clinic. He had his heart valve repaired reportedly.

Keillor has become known for his enigmatic voice as a successful radio host and is an intrinsic part of his folksy radio programme, the staff of which are anxious about his sudden fall of health.

Keillor recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of “Pararie Home” with it’s 4th of July performance amid a lively audience of 10000 folks in Avon, a central Minnesota spot. He is a seasoned professional dedicated to his work. His last performance was on Friday at the Minnesota State Fair.
