Rachel Weisz to play Jackie Kennedy

Rachel Weisz and Jackie Kennedy April 16, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Actor Rachel Weisz gained widespread public recognition after her depiction of Evelyn Carnahan-O’Connell in the films like The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. She will be enacting the role of Jackie Kennedy in a forthcoming film.

The film on Jackie Kennedy will be directed by her fiancé and director Darren Aronofsky. The film will be about the previous first lady’s fight after the assassination of her husband, the celebrated President John F. Kennedy. The film particularly focuses on the four days between Kennedy’s assassination and his interment. The spin on the story is confidential and people are wondering about what stand Aronofsky is going to take in the film.

The couple has been together since 2001 and has a 3-year-old son named Henry. Aronofsky recently functioned on the ‘The Wrestler’ starring Mickey Rourke. Aronofsky is the third American filmmaker to acquire the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Jackie Kennedy will be the most significant character for Weisz, who was born in England. She will have to make an effort to portray the character of Jackie Kennedy precisely. The film, which will be referred to as ‘Jackie’ is in the pre- production stage. But some have already forecasted that it will be Oscar material.

Rachel’s performance in The Constant Gardener (2005) bequeathed her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, along with other significant motion picture awards.
