New York, Dec 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) R. Kelly shocked his fans when he appeared on stage at the final of the X Factor US show on Wednesday. The singer had a throat surgery in the summer and he has since not performed at a concert.

Kelly performed his hit song I Believe I Can Fly when he got on the stage. He did the song with eventual show winner Melanie Amaro. Before he got on the stage, Kelly revealed that he owes his remarkable recovery to the grace of GOD.

He wrote on his Twitter page that, “To have been thru what I have been thru - having throat surgery and not only unable to sing, but not even able to talk - and to end up on the stage of X Factor tonight shows the true power of GOD.”

Kelly was operated on when he was admitted at the Illinois hospital on the 11th of July this year. He had complained of severe pains for days prior to the treatment. Doctors said they carried out the procedure to drain out an abscess in his tonsil. He canceled all his subsequent planned concerts for the year.

Amaro walked away with $5 million record deal after she emerged the winner of the first X Factor US show.
