Cooking on the other hand, might be a pleasure once in a while but for all those who have to do it everyday, the artistic part of it is no more in the picture. Though many experts will give quick recipes for a quick snack or a light meal, people who cook will know that proper cooking of meals takes time and the process can be shortened by no ordinary means. However, there are some recipes that can be a wholesome main course and yet take a jiffy to finish.

With people all over the world becoming more and more health conscious and careful about their diets, it becomes even more essential that quick meals retain their health benefits and yet taste like restaurant food cooked to perfection. For example, the Rustic Tomato Pasta has a recipe that takes neither time nor a variety of difficult-to-find ingredients. Chopped tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and pasta is all that one needs to make it. The secret to the recipe is the tossing of the pasta, the sauteed tomato and garlic with salt and pepper.

Easily available designer salads also provide a great base for many easy-to-make dishes. For example, cottage cheese cooked in negligible oil and a half boiled egg that is scrambled can add to the salad to make it a fiber and protein rich dish. Tofu also provides the base for several healthy, low-calorie easy to make dishes that take very little time to make as well.
