Queen’s granddaughter to marry soon

Prince William London, Dec 21 (IANS) Just weeks after the announcement of Prince William’s engagement to Kate Middleton, Britain’s royal family is preparing for another wedding as Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter Zara Phillips is set to marry her rugby star boyfriend Mike Tindall.Phillips, daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, said Tuesday that Tindall proposed to her Monday night which she accepted immediately, contactmusic.com reports.

The couple have been dating since 2003.

The British monarch is “delighted” by the wedding news.

“The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall, son of Phillip and Linda Tindall,” said a statement from Buckingham Palace.
