Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin Recuperating After ‘Highly Successful’ Surgery

Dec 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has undergone a successful surgery and the noted soul singer thanked her fans for their love and support after the operation. The legendary singer went under knife on Thursday for an undisclosed health problem. The representative of the singer said that Aretha Franklin thanked her doctors, nurses for her successful surgery and said that all the prayers of her fans in the city and country helped her recover from her illness.
Aretha Franklin canceled all her tours and concerts about a month ago citing doctor’s order as the reason. Last October, the soul icon stayed at Detroit hospital for several days owing to her health issues. On Wednesday, JoAnn Watson, the Councilwoman of Detroit City held a prayer vigil for Aretha Franklin near the city hall. JoAnn Watson said that the “Respect” singer’s fans are not concerned about the details of the surgery but they just want their favorite singer to know that they are by her side during her difficult time.
Dr. Jeffrey A. Dusek, the director of research at the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis said that the perceptions and beliefs of the people are important for their recovery. He said that if the Grammy Award-winning singer thinks that the love, support and prayers helped her to recover, then it must be true. On August, Aretha Franklin canceled her two concerts after she fell from stage and broke her two ribs. Last November, Aretha Franklin terminated all her public appearances for next six months. However, her publicist said that the singer is anxious and waiting to perform on stage as soon as possible. However, the soul singer’s fans are eagerly waiting to see her perform on stage once again.
