Rapper-actress Queen Latifah has some concrete plans for upcoming female rappers.
She says that she will invite the aspiring female rappers from America to support her on tour. She feels that this will give a boost to all deserving female rappers.
She says that it’s her duty to look after the new female talent because there are not enough women in rap. For the selection procedure she has asked interested candidates to register on her website and upload a minute of a song.
She’s said: “In my entire career never has it been so male dominated as it is right now. I would be doing an injustice if I don’t try to help bring up the next up-and-coming female rappers. It’s just not right to have hip-hop with no female voices anymore.”
She’s added: “There was (M.C.) Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy (Elliot)… Eve, and now there’s like one person, maybe. So far I have 25 dates booked, 25 different cities, and so I want to discover the new female rapper or the new female rap group.”
