Psychic Kids Dec 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tuesday saw the premiere of Psychic Kids on A&E. It is actually a spin off on A&E’s popular series named Paranormal States. This series deals with kids who have extraordinary sensibilities and psychic capacities. The series also features Chip Coffey, an eminent psychic medium. There is another psychologist named Dr. Lisa Miller in this series. They travel to various parts of the country and interview such kids, support them mentally and where necessary, provide counseling and guidance to their parents to cope with the kids better. Sometimes the family of such gifted kids fail to understand them properly and the psychologists are on a mission to educate them properly.

The families of psychic kids often do not have enough idea or resources to aid their kids. In contrast with academically talented children, the kids with psychic sensibilities are often misunderstood and ostracized by the main stream society. This can have a far reaching effect on these kids, who can withdraw into a shell or become a rebel.

The parents of such kids need to understand that every human being is born with some unique ability and what is considered as abnormal by some, can actually be a power or capability not understood by the mass. However, it would be wrong to assume that all psychic kids see ghosts regularly. In most of the cases they do not understand the meaning of Supernatural until the adults make them understand. Some kids with such unique capacities are able to retain their special power even when they grow up but others have to go through lots of trials and traumas.
