Producers Guild of America to honour James Cameron

Tom Cruise London, Sep 23 (IANS) Filmmaker James Cameron will be honoured with the Producers Guild of America’s (PGA) top prize for his contributions to show business.
The “Avatar” and “Titanic” director will be given the Milestone Award, reports contactmusic.com.

Tom Cruise’s former business partner Paula Wagner, who is the chairperson of the 2011 PGA Awards, said: “James Cameron is an exceptionally talented producer. He has continued to change the film landscape with his ability to deliver groundbreaking masterpieces that present audiences and the industry with unrivalled beauty, originality and impact.”

The honour will be bestowed at the PGA’s 22nd annual award show in Los Angeles next year. In the past, Clint Eastwood, Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock have been the recipients of the Milestone Award.
