Producers’ Guild Awards 2008 to be held March 30

Mumbai, March 14 (IANS) The Film and Television Producers’ Guild of India has announced that its annual ‘Apsara Award’ will be held in Mumbai March 30. Addressing the media Thursday, the guild president Ronnie Screwvala said the event this year would be held in collaboration with the NDTV Imagine and the event management organization Wizcraft International Entertainment.

The awards will have two sections - popular and technical awards.

The guild members will individually assess the movies nominated and the winners will be declared at an award function to be held at the MMRDA Grounds at Bandra in northwest Mumbai, the guild member Manmohan Shetty said.

In all, 28 ‘Apsara’ trophies will be presented, 16 for popular awards, seven for technical awards and five for special awards.

Bollywood star Vidya Balan unveiled the trophy before the media.

NDTV Imagine CEO Sameer Nair and Viraf Sarkari, directior Wizcraft, were also present at the media meet.
