Priyadarshan to film new movie in UAE
January 26th, 2011 - 10:02 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Jan 26 (IANS/WAM) Bollywood filmmaker Priyadarshan is currently in Abu Dhabi to shoot a comedy movie based on the Indian diaspora living in the Gulf region.The movie - titled “The Arabian, the Camel and Madhavan Nair” - stars Mohanlal, Laxmi Rai and Bhavana, and is an Emirati-Indian joint project under the Jancos Entertainment banner. It is being produced by Ashok Kumar, Jamal Al Nuaimi and Naveen Shashidharan.
Priyadarshan, who boasts of 81 movies under his belt, including the National Award winner best film “Kanjeevaram” (2008), says this venture will show the world the “untouched beauty and grandeur” of Abu Dhabi’s landscape and vibrant culture.
The filmmaker said he wants to show the world how “different” and “visually rich” was this part of the world.
“Abu Dhabi is untouched by the global film industry. I want to show the world its magnificence and richness,” the director said, thanking the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) for offering the necessary support to his venture.
