A woman 33 weeks pregnant is brought into the hospital after being pulled from freezing waters. Going into cardiac arrest due to a hole in her heart Addison has to delivery the baby premature. Sam and Addison who accompany each other in the surgery feel the tension mounting between them ever since Sam revealed his feeling towards Addison.

Dr. Cooper examines Paige, a young teenager who is feeling ill and during the examine Cooper finds a bite mark on her neck. He questions her on it and she refuses to give him any information on the bite. After convincing her that she needs to tell him what happened she makes him promise not to tell her mother. Coop finds out that the 13 year olds teenage boyfriend thinks he is a vampire and bit her to pledge his love. The vampire-believing boy comes into the clinic to be tested for any infection that may have ca used Paige’s illness. Paige not wanting to tell Dr. Cooper, who else her boyfriend could have bit, does break down and tells Charlotte.

Addison and Pete find themselves in bed together after feeling alone at a benefit dinner for the hospital. During their sexual encounter Pete tells Addison he is still in love with Violet, in return she tells Pete she thinks she is love with Sam.
