New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) Pritish Nandy Communications’ (PNC) feature film “Saluun” has been officially invited to premiere at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) 2009 to be held Nov 10-Nov 20.
“This year CIFF will welcome the new generation of brilliant filmmakers from India by honouring Indian cinema. PNC’s ‘Saluun’ represents the fresh breed of Indian filmmakers and it’s a great pleasure for us to screen the movie at the festival,” festival president Ezzat Abou Ouf said in a statement.

Produced under PNC’s Guerilla Flicks banner, “Saluun” is the directorial debut of Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.

It stars Gaurav Kapur, Razak Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Brijendra Kala, Murli Sharma, Gayatri Choudhuri and Arindam Mitra.

A tribute to middle class India, “Saluun” is based on a true incident where locals in a Maharashtra town got so fed up with corrupt government officials that they made a plan to teach them a lesson.
