London, June 28 (IANS) Prince William faced embarrassment at a shop when he had to ask his girlfriend Kate Middleton to pay the bill as he was not carrying his wallet.
Middleton used her credit card to clear the bill and it gave away her identity, reports dailystar.co.uk.
The checkout girl at McColl’s mini-market in North Wales recognised William and asked him: “You’re Prince William?”
William replied: “No. No I’m not.”
William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is known for not carrying any cash.
