Prince pleasantly surprised by ‘respectable’ French fans

October 13th, 2009 - 5:29 pm ICT by ANI Tell a Friend -

London, Oct 13 (ANI): Pop superstar Prince has admitted that he was surprised when fans at his recent concert in Paris, France, agreed to honour his request not to use camera phones to record his show.

The singer hates seeing poor quality footage of his performances online and insists on restricting the use of cameras at his gigs.

He never expected French fans to honour his request but was pleasantly surprised not to see the glow of a camera phone during his show at the Grand Palais on Sunday.

He, in fact, thinks that Americans could learn a lot from the politeness of their French counterparts.

“It is actually indescribable, that much love. They were very respectable,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“We asked that no one used camera phones and they honoured that request, unlike Americans who are so obsessed with technology.

“We don’t like to have our concert filmed that way because it sounds so bad and then you give all the footage to somebody like YouTube,” he added. (ANI)
